Access Log Manager
Find out more about the Access Log Manager and also the information you will have inside it.
An access log is a text file containing a complete report on all of the files accessed by your website visitors. All the files that were requested in one way or another shall be included, so if you have a PHP script application and a site visitor opens only the home page, for example, you may find plenty of files in the log. It is because there are resources on the home page that are embedded - parts of other webpages, pics, and so on. All these files will be listed inside the access log, so you can get a complete picture of the way your Internet site performs. The information is in plain text format, so the logs are often termed "raw data" as well. An access log provides the name of each requested file, the path to it, the date it was accessed, and also the user’s IP address, Internet browser and Operating System. More information, such as the referrer Internet site, is typically provided too. A log file can be processed by various desktop applications for statistical purposes as an addition to the web statistics generated by your server.

Access Log Manager in Shared Hosting
If you obtain a
shared hosting from our company, you will be able to determine if access logs should be created and for which domains or subdomains in your account this should be done. You can enable this feature from the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, integrated with all shared accounts. Any
domain you host or subdomain you create will be listed there and you'll see an On/Off option next to every one of them, so you can quickly activate or disable the generation of access logs individually for every single website that you have. You can save a log to your laptop or computer by clicking on the Download link that you will see in the exact same section of the Control Panel. The link is available even if you stop the log generation, so you will still have access to the data collected by our system.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you have a
semi-dedicated server account with us, it won't take more than several mouse clicks to activate the generation of access logs by our system if you need them. The feature could be enabled via the Hepsia web hosting Control Panel and this may be done independently for each domain or subdomain you have in your account. Once you log in and go to the Access/Error Logs section of the CP, you'll see a list of all the hostnames with an On/Off button next to every one of them. A single click will activate the log generation and a second one shall disable it, so you can control this function with great convenience. A Download link inside the same section will permit you to save the created content as a text file, which you may then use on your PC. Even when the logs are disabled, you shall still be able to download the data that has been previously generated.
